A last minute post

I walked this morning down Acland St for the last time and I felt so alive! What a beautiful sunny day we've got today! The sound of the trees moved by a mild breeze and the people walking around deciding where to have a nice coffee. This is St Kilda and I LOVE IT.

Aww, so many thoughts in my mind, but no time to extend myself right now. Yanoula is waiting for me (she's gonna drive me to the airport, sweet!).

I'll leave you with this pic of us on my last saturday night at Veludo's (kinda farewell party, but not really).

Memories from Brisbane

Dedicated to all Embassy and all the nice people I met in Brisbane

While on the bus on my way to Sydney, I was recalling every single moment of the last 5 weeks:

from drinking in the balcony to Tommy Briggs’ madness,
from Dave, Carl, Jocelyn, Barry and Jamie Boy playing guitar every night to random iPod's played in cheesy speakers,
from "On the Bus" to "Shitted" card games,
from the Embassy to the Down Under,
from shitty pizzas at 5am to Joce's lovely cookies,
from Max working at Jade’s to Chris in Z Bar (and been fired later)
from Frank’s “I'm not too sure” to James singing what he speaks,
from cotton tips to Ctrl+N and then Alt+Tab,
from free drinks to pool games at Down Under,
from Mehrtash (Mac) writing that never ending essay to Zara desperately applying for a New Zealand Visa,
from meeting Inga, George and Tom to meeting Mike and Ben,
from Zara, Jocelyn and Frank cleaning the shit left in the balcony, to Nicola and Mike at reception,
from Elizabeth St. to Queen St.,
from room 308, to 405 to 411 to 310,
from suck at bowling to win at pool with Seb!,
from South Bank to New Farm,
from my sprained ankle to James' lost tooth,
from bed bags to air conditioner leaks,
from dancing at Mad Dance House, to dancing with Chris at Down Under (that was my best night, promise).
from first crew (all irish and british people) to second crew (german and british people).

I would’ve loved to stay longer and longer and longer, though I know it was the right time to go. Hope to catch up with you sometime... here, there, everywhere.

Lots of love!!!

My english so far: level 3

Yeap! I say now im level 3 and here are my reasons:

1. I speak faster now.
2. I have less mistakes on verb tenses.
3. When I go to night clubs I still can have a talk inspite of the noise.
4. While on the phone I used to understand the half, though now I understand around 70% or 80%, depending on the accent.

I believe level 4 is going to be harder, as I can't really imagine myself getting any improvements. Any ideas of what should I be able to do next month?

My english so far: level 2

Despues de mi primer mes in the land of Oz, creo que pase al nivel 2.

I believe

I believe in life. There's nothing else but believing in what your own eyes can see and your heart feels. Mind's job is just a reaction to your instincts and it never helps to find out the truth. That's a fact.

I've said before that things just happens, you don't need to do any effort. Is about your will power, that pure desire, and letting things flow. Then it comes to you.

Here in Brisbane my days have been built by someone else. A week ago I was feeling lonely and stuck. I thought that staying was the worst decision ever, cos things were not happening as I wished. But instead of freaking out, I left all to the rest, to the people around, to the universe. And guess what! Suddenly I have this huge plan in front of my eyes and it fits perfectly. The story goes like this:

The day before yesterday I went to Govindas, a hari krishna restaurant, and once inside the building I saw a sign that said "Mad Dance House". The next minute I was upstairs with a dance classes timetable in my hands. That was enough.

Next day I went back and asked if I could work there to pay the classes and the girl said I had to email the owner of the place: Meg. Few hours later I had written to her and received her answer back asking me to meet her today.

What happened today? The answer is obvious... I've got the job and the free dance classes!!! All I have to do is work in front desk every tuesday and thursday, from 5:00 to 7:45pm. Sweet!

So after all this, I'm staying until december 20th, and if I find a good job during the mornings, I might stay until march.

You see?? This is how life happens... just believing in it.

My english so far: level 1

I would say my english haven't really improved in two weeks. However im happy cos almost everybody says my english is very good. I can tell my accent is more english than american, that's exactly what I want, so that's why im hanging out with lots of english people.

About my spanish? Now that's funny, cos I've spoke just a couple of times with some mates that want to practice, and when im speaking to them i realise my accent is totally different!! It's like im pronouncing every single word, without skipping the 's' that chileans usually do.

Oh yeah, chileans! I haven't met any yet, though i heard the chilean accent twice while walking on the street. I though i would find a chilean in every corner, but i reckon Australia is too big and there ain't many as we all thought.

Anyways, here in Byron is full of dutch belgium and french people... i guess the english are not interested in the surf thing... hope to find some in Brisbane.

Cheers!
